they come
their hearts upon the drum
it is not done
they come from another place
another time
their hearts upon the drum
it is not done
they come from another place
another time
from the dark recesses
of our mind
they speak in voices
still unknown
until our sins we atone
and then the lion upon the throne
the way to life we’ll be shown
they come
of our mind
they speak in voices
still unknown
until our sins we atone
and then the lion upon the throne
the way to life we’ll be shown
they come

Great image. The words certainly hit home - "until our sins we atone - "
Wonderful image and words. We should send to BP, all politicians, bankers, etc
wv:biman - buy man?
Drumming really works up the anxiety. It reminds me of the drumming at Pashupati where followers of Shiva go to die.
The image sums up everything: They Come. An apocalypse call, I reckon.
Joy always Jenean,
Susan
and those same words keep coming to me, nancy - about atonement - which is a bit disconcerting - that they continue -
exactly trish - buy man! sad sad commentary on humanity!
hey butternut! wonderful to see you - and so interesting your comment about drumming and it gives a more complete meaning to why i put drum there - i was puzzled by my having chosen that word "drum" actually when i used it in this verse - i don't always know from whence or why certain words come out when i'm putting together a verse - and i was not at all with drum here - but your response certainly clarifies it for me - thank you so much!
a fairly constant theme for me it seems the past few months, susan - they come - and if you read butternut's response above, to me, my own verse makes even more sense -
