the gypsies' journey...

we all are gypsies of a sort wandering traveling through this life other lives space and time here there and yon on roads less traveled - following the path of the sun and the trail of the stars to worlds known and unknown from yesterday and today into tomorrow -

this is a written and visual journal of my own travels - imagined and/or real -
imagined and/or real - a STREAMOFCONSCIOUSNESS telling of my own personal thoughts feelings experiences - interspersed with words and images of others - with things defined by most as PARAnormal which - for me - all my life - have been PERFECTLYnormal -

SO come along with me and we'll dance among the stars under the sun and over the moon - we'll share our stories around the campfire - together -

A...WOMAN IN MOTION WITH HAIR AS DARK AS NIGHT HER EYES WERE LIKE THAT OF A CAT IN THE DARK... SHE WAS A GYPSYWOMAN... she danced round and round... from the fire her face was all aglow... she was dancing... dancing... waiting for the RISING SUN... loving caring relationships are like THE RISING SUN...we are nourished by their warmth...we are energized by their strength...we grow in their light...we find shelter and solace there...they are our sanctuary... born in the sign of the sun, i am a true LEO-love the sun and its hot orange red fire-passionate in and about everything i do-i believe in instant chemistry charisma love/lust at first sight-in the magic of the eyes and the beauty of the soul-in the instant recognition familiarity in meeting someone from a past life and in the knowledge that we might meet in a future life-i believe that we are each ageless and flawless-i believe in the beauty of the moment-the whisper of yesterday-the hope of tomorrow-the power of forgiveness for even ourselves-the absolute and total beauty of love---[credit to brian hyland and curtis mayfield]

ufo's in the desert and guns at area 51...my childhood travels...

as a child, my family traveled very frequently - if we were not relocating to a new home because of our father's work [more on his work later], we were taking cross-country road trips - our favorite places were in the southwest's wide open barren landscapes where the road stretched forever without interruption and the lights of the next town miles and miles away could be seen with the naked eye on the dark night horizon - my particular favorite thing was this night riding - riding in the back seat of our "car of the year" with our parents in the front seat and my brother and sister and i taking turns at riding by the windows - when it was my turn for a window seat, i would stay awake as long as i could - just to watch the night sky - the sky dark as black velvet - peppered with millions of tiny flashing stars - and during those "night rides" during the late 1940's through 1950's in west texas, new mexico, arizona, nevada, specifically -

it was nothing at all unusual for odd flying "things" to be seen in the skies - i mean, to us, it was nothing unusual - i remember it being so common place that one of my parents might comment, "oh, there's another flying cigar" - most of the objects that we saw were referred to as "flying cigars" because of their cylindrical shape - and the ones i remember had a row of flashing lights that went round the circumference of the object - we were never fearful of these things - not my parents or us kids - many many times we pulled over on the side of the road to watch the object - sometimes there was more than just one at a time - the most recent sighting of my childhood time was when we were traveling to lubbock texas to the funeral of my step grandfather - and traveling into the night, we saw another cigar shaped objects with the flashing lights - and i remember my parents talking about it with us and i remember looking out the window to watch it as we drove -

shortly after the 1947 roswell incident, we actually went to roswell just to see whatever was there to be seen - there were signs and billboards and posters about aliens and space ships everywhere -

sometime toward the middle-end of the 50's we also went to a place which i am sure is "area 51" - my parents didn't refer to it by name and when they spoke of it, it was always in hush-hush tones - which we knew meant something serious but we didn't know what - in any event, on this summer trip we were going cross-country to california - and in nevada we took a little "side trip" - and, again, these little "side trips" were nothing at all unusual for us - i mean, my mother might see a billboard for a group of caves 35 miles down the next road to the right - and off we would go - or she might see a mountain in the distance and decide that she had to have a rock from THAT mountain and off we'd go - so, we never really had a fixed agenda at all - ever - and this excursion was no exception -

in any event, on this side trip, i remember the desert and mountains around us - at some point my father turned off the two lane road and onto a dirt road - windows down and dirt blowing in - my parents whispering - we kids sitting and looking and not saying a word - there was just something that we didn't understand and we knew to be quiet at times like that - i remember seeing warning signs after a while - signs prohibiting going further - signs warning that trespassers would be shot without question - and i remember my father never slowing down and the dirt swirling around us wrapping us like a hot cocoon in the car - and then, we stopped - my father first got out of the car, then my mother - and we were told to stay in the car - my father walked in front of the car for a ways and my mother a bit behind - they carried a camera with them - by then, we were transfixed by it all - i can still remember the sound of it - the absolute total silence - the sound of the silence - at some point, my brother and sister and i got out of the car and started walking toward our parents who were standing closer together now but my mother still behind - and then i remember my mother pleading, "charles, charles, we have to leave - get back in the car - we're going to be shot!" -- over and over - and turning to rush us to the car - as i turned something caught my eye and i looked over my right shoulder - there, on an embankment in the distance was a man with a rifle pointed directly at us - my mother kept begging my father to get back in the car - but he stood there, then turned toward the man with the gun - and stood there - looking back - i remember turning again to look back at my father as we got to the car and got inside - and he was still in the same turned position looking directly at the man - then, he turned toward the car and walked back, got in the car, and we drove away - not one word was said all the way to the main highway - i do remember my mother kept turning to look behind us on the road - but neither of them said a word - now, i have no memory of this incidence ever being discussed again - ever - and i do not remember ever having seen any photographs taken that day - i cannot definitively say that this was "area 51" - and i cannot say that this was a military installation - i cannot say that the man with the gun was military or a cowboy or an alien or anything else - i cannot say that the weapon the man pointed was a rifle [it had a long barrel and the man had it up to his shoulder] -

in terms of my father's work - i cannot say for sure even what that was - i can say that we were told that he was a "purchasing agent" for the government [but not active military] - i can say that we kids knew that he could not tell our mother where he was going or why he was going when he traveled without us [which was also very frequently] - i can say that our mother once made the mistake, according to my sister who remembers this event very clearly - and only once - of divulging something that our father had told her regarding his work and upon telling her, admonished her that she could tell NO ONE - and then, within a few days something appeared in the news media and our father rushed home, demanding to know with whom our mother had discussed whatever it was that could not be discussed and was furious to learn that she had, in fact, divulged something to a friend -

what i CAN say is that my siblings and i witnessed something extraordinary that day at that place - and that somehow my father knew of this place, knew where it was and how to approach it secretly -

wonderful post...I wonder if your father was involved with the group that was trying to investagate the validity of the events that happened around that time.? I lived like that..moving all the time..like gypsys..You learn alot about people and life that way..I have no doubt there are other beings out there..watching.

hi willow - thanks for coming by - yes, it's all even more intriguing NOW, of course!

you know, i've no clue - i mean, he was supposed to have been working FOR the government - and it was the government that was doing the cover-up plus it is a government installation - so i don't know - i wish my sister could remember more - it would be neat to fill in some of the blanks - our brother died many years ago so there is no one left to help with these spaces of things -
so you moved a lot too? most times we didn't stay one place long enough to get report card which, back then, were given every 6 weeks! so, yes, very gypsy-like living! thanks for your time and comments! come again soon -

oh..I missed my report card many a times...i was always the new kid..I remember reading about a group of people that were involved in trying to expose the govt coverup..and if I remember correctly they said they had been employed wih the govt before..I'll see if I can rememeber were I read that article..

oh, gee, you too on the report cards! bunch of vagabonds, we were, weren't we?!! you probably didn't try out for plays or sports or join clubs either - i mean, whenever i did, it was to no avail - i would get a part in a play, learn my lines and then we were gone before dress rehearsal even - no friends made, either - cause we would be gone - new towns, new schools, new houses, new smells, sights, the whole thing - always something new - but ya gotta admit, it taught us to learn fast - always on our toes - and what an education of the world!

Boy, don't get me started on the Nevada desert. I was born and raised in Nevada and spent a very large amount of time around the Fallon Air Base and I have seen many cigar-shaped flying things. One night near Layhotan Resevoir and Fallon, some friends and I were crawling around the desert in the middle of the night drinking beer when we came over the top of a small hill and a huge circular thing with lights all round it rose straight up in front of us. We slamed on the breaks, turned around, and with dust flying, headed out as fast as we could. I don't know what it was, but it was during the time they could have been testing the stealth fighter jet, and it did rise straight up. But the thing had been sitting right in the middle of the dirt road.

isn't what we don't know so fascinating? I have often wondered about that... great story!

there was a sighting here the other night and then last night, for the second night in a row, a HUGE painting crashed to the floor in our bedroom. I had just looked at the UFO pics on youtube and totally freaked out, thinking aliens were shooting at us through the wide open window with machine guns...I think I was half asleep but somewhere deep, the idea of little critters was there and when I heard this series of very loud crashes, I just flipped....still have a heart rate that's up!

gee, nancy - what a story - and i'm sure it's only one of many many given your location - you know, though, in terms of your object, i'm not so sure that even the military mentality would sit something in the middle of a road, but hey.......

did you ever get any photos?

thanks for coming by with such a fun [yes, easy for me to say] story!!!

GYPSYWOMAN said...

you know, linda, that's so true - the unknown being so fascinating - my sister and i were talking about that yesterday - we both are astonished at the things we do not know about our family -

really weird stuff at your place! sightings and then your thoughts and happenings - and two nights in a row for your painting - have you thought about sitting a tape recorder and/or camera out? it would be neat to see if anything showed on either of them!

and on your heart rate - slow breath - bad karma out - good karma in....

:)

hi natalie - am so glad to have you come by over here - but, you know, i've never really been frightened of these kinds of things - except once - and i'm gonna post that story soon - but, for the most part, i'm just totally curious and want to know more - thanks again for coming by - have a great day -

Your fascinating story read like a book I would not be able to put down. What memories you bring us, what an interesting mind you had as a kid, I love all your stories.

oh, thank you celeste - the whole thing of childhood and constant change/fluctuation of every facet of my life with resulting exposure to so many things in so many ways - all leaving their marks on me, as it would have with any child i am sure - your comments always are cherished

Gypsywoman - I came to your site because of your name - I used that name on another site because my husband and I travel all the time! I was fascinated with this post. We visited Roswell in our travels. Went to the UFO museum. I'm a true believer in alien life. My husband? Not so much. I believe there was a cover up.

This was such an interesting post!

are you kidding?? I may look incredibly brave and heroic but I am anything but and have seen enough orbs in the photos I take at night to know there's stuff around here, all good until the other two nights...I have no idea what happened so we did a blessing on the house and since, nothing untoward has come about...and hoping it stays that way as i have not been so scared in a very long time.
