...and our small planet at this moment, here we face a critical branch point in history, what we do with our world, right now, will propagate down through the centuries and powerfully affect the destiny of our descendants, it is well within our power to destroy our civilization and perhaps our species as well.
If we capitulate to superstition or greed or stupidity we could plunge our world into a time of darkness deeper than the time between the collapse of classical civilisation and the Italian Renaissance.
But we are also capable of using our compassion and our intelligence, our technology and our wealth to make an abundant and meaningful life for every inhabitant of this planet.

WOW! What a mission statement. Or statement of purpose. Something. Love it.
You are so right, lady! Great post! It's as if no one cares! Our governor has repeatedly asked for help from our so-called government and has received none! The president came and paid lip service, then did nothing, except get the escrow
account on paper. Doubt if much of that money will actually go to the fishermen. And the ugly truth keeps on seeping out, day by day, along with the oil! So sad!
we have the choice... is up to us to decide the way forward and accept our responsability.

Yes! Please, oh, please, let it be a time of enlightenment and not darkness.
Lovely picture.
It is hard to visualize a world without greed, corruption, religious wars and the endless quests for power and territories.
I doubt the World has ever been in that Ball Park and I fear it never will be.
