yesterday
storm's beginning
UPDATE - SNOW PLOW CAME THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON - ONE SWIFT SWOOP - AT LEAST ABLE TO LEAVE DRIVE - CAREFULLY - MAYBE TOMORROW ;)
just to let you all know i've not been away by choice at all - we are in the midst of a huge blizzard with more than 2-1/2 feet of snow out our front door - a lot of people are without power but ours has remained on for which i am so grateful - however, have had no cable or internet or land phones until about an hour ago [since friday] - entire state shut down basically - we have managed to clear the drive to the street but the street remains under all the snow as state and private plows all under emergency use for keeping main roads open - no private developments/neighborhoods have been plowed yet and no one knows when they will be - good news is that sun was out all day yesterday and is out today - beautiful - bad news is that another foot or more of snow expected to hit tomorrow into all day wednesday in this area all the way over to dc and into pennsylvania, etc - oh, and other bad news - now running out of basic necessity kinds of supplies -
please send saint bernards - chocolate, fresh fruit and wine appreciated!
now off to your places to see what's new and exciting while i still can - see you there!

Stay safe and warm, dear friend. Tons of ice and snow here, as well!

No big storms here, but more snow last Saturday. I'm tired of white.
Wow this storm is really something! Stay safe and warm. I hope they clear the roads enough to at least be able to get necessities! Wine and chocolate at the top of the list. The bad part is that usually the stores are not able to get stocked back up, even if you can get out. Keep us updated!
hey nancy - so great to hear from you - yes, white has never been "my color" and even less so right now, given that the entire eastern hemisphere seems to be enveloped in it - at least my little section - my daughter lisa has been trying to get her flight out of dc to louisiana for several days now - keeps being cancelled and rescheduled - yesterday she drove to dc to catch the 4pm which she was told was going - and of course as she gets into the city, airline calls to say cancelled - dc is a 2 hour drive - so she and alejandro [3 yr old] are in dc now with storm there - fortunately she is at ex-husband's house and not stuck at airport - i was going to drive over this morn and bring them back before today's storm hits but she's determined to get to louisiana to see her elderly grandmother - anyway, there are another few hours before next wave comes in so i may try to get out to main road for food - i'm down to just a few little pieces of the dark chocolate!!!
thanks again for coming by and leaving me a little note!
No to snow in Florida. Otherwise I'd be moving even farther south!
well, trish, should you go much further south, you would be on what lush tropical island? i'll join you there!
Love the snow pictures!
